About the Event
If pregnancy and birth have left you feeling a bit disconnected from the muscles of your core and pelvic floor, this is the workshop for you! In this workshop, we will discuss the basic anatomy of the core and pelvic floor, and then dive into simple techniques & exercises to help with recovery. We will also address abdominal wall separation (diastasis recti) and how to repair it, pelvic floor dysfunction and "leaking," and how to return to exercise and your daily routine in a safe way.
In a nutshell the following topics will be covered:
*Core & pelvic floor anatomy
*Perineal care (and how to possibly prevent tearing during birth)
*Breastfeeding positions &
*When can you start exercising again
*Getting back into a safe exercise routine
*Your postpartum hormones & postpartum mood disorders
*YOUR birth experience and debriefing
There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion. Appropriate for all stages of postpartum and beyond, and even for pregnant mamas who want to learn some strengthening techniques before baby arrives. Absolutely no experience necessary. Pre-crawling babies are welcome to come along as well :)
